Gate House
This beautiful new build barn style house was built in a rural setting on the edge of a village in the Hampshire countryside. The site is adjacent to a courtyard of historic and listed farm buildings, some having been previously converted to residential. CFW had also worked on a listed thatched barn here in a previous phase.
The new barn acts as sentry to the property and accommodates the site manager. The building is highly insulated, it is powered by a heat pump and a large array of solar panels. The traditional timber exterior is designed to sits comfortably alongside the listed buildings and in the rural farm setting. The barn has is a very bespoke design to meet the needs of the client. The interior has a contrasting and complimentary modern look with a large double height space, characterful details expressing the structure and plentiful glazing offering excellent views over a large landscaped garden.
